INSTALLATION / SETUP



Create Monkerware Account

To get started using MonkerViewer or MonkerSolver, you first need to create a free monkerware account.

Go to monkerware.com
Click Account -> Click "No account? Sign up here"
A verification code will be sent to your email, you will need this to login to MonkerViewer/MonkerSolver for the first time
If you don't receive this email within 5 minutes, it was likely blocked by spam filters. The easiest thing to do is try again using a different email address. (Gmail and Hotmail are the worst)

Create Monkerware Account


Setup MonkerViewer (Windows)

Go to monkerware.com
Click Viewer -> Download and Install MonkerViewer for Windows
Launch MonkerViewer from your desktop and use the verification code you received at signup as your password the first time you login
You might need to install Java (64-bit) first, from here
If you have purchased preflop ranges click Settings -> Local ranges folder, navigate to your ranges folder, single click to highlight your ranges folder (don't double click) then click Open
It may take some time for MonkerViewer to load your ranges
Click Local to view your preflop range charts

Load Preflop Ranges In MonkerViewer


Setup MonkerViewer (Linux)

Go to monkerware.com
Click Viewer -> Download MonkerViewer for Apple / Linux
Browse to the download folder, right-click -> Open Terminal Here
Execute java -jar monkerviewer.jar
You might need to install Java (64-bit) first, from here
Continue with Windows instructions above, the app is the same


Setup MonkerViewer (MacOS)

Go to monkerware.com
Click Viewer -> Download MonkerViewer for Apple / Linux
Execute the file monkerviewer.jar (Google how to run Java applications)
Continue with Windows instructions above, the app is the same
If you're unable to set the ranges folder, MonkerViewer or Java may require 'Full Disk Access'. This blog post might help you, if not please consult a MacOS expert.


Setup MonkerSolver (Windows)

Go to monkerware.com
Click Account -> Login -> Purchase Solver
Download Solver 2.1.9 for Windows
Install MonkerSolver and login (using verification code as password if it's your first time)
You might need to install Java (64-bit) first, from here
By default the app will be installed to c:\program files\MonkerSolver
The config file is at c:\program files\MonkerSolver\app\monkersolver.cfg
Inside the config file you can set maximum RAM allocated to the solver
The default folder for Trees / Saved Runs is c:\users\[username]\MonkerSolver


Setup MonkerSolver (Linux)

Go to monkerware.com
Click Account -> Login -> Purchase Solver
Download Solver 2.1.9 for OSX / Linux
Browse to the download folder, unzip monkersolver-beta-2.x.zip, open MonkerSolver folder, right-click -> Open Terminal Here
Execute java -jar launcher.jar
Choose how much RAM to allocate to MonkerSolver
Login (using verification code as password if it's your first time)
You might need to install Java (64-bit) first, from here


Setup MonkerSolver (MacOS)

Go to monkerware.com
Click Account -> Login -> Purchase Solver
Download Solver 2.1.9 for OSX / Linux
Browse to the download folder, unzip monkersolver-beta-2.x.zip, open MonkerSolver folder
Execute the file launcher.jar (Google how to run Java applications)
Choose how much RAM to allocate to MonkerSolver
Login (using verification code as password if it's your first time)
You might need to install Java (64-bit) first, from here
